The official Anglican Church of Australia is not a "monolithic" structure. Its structure and some legal issues around its governance were helpfully set out in a decision of Hammerschlag J in the NSW Supreme Court in 2015:
Most Anglicans worldwide acknowledge that sexual relations are only permitted between one man and one wife within the context of a life-long marriage. It is a very simple concept that is very readily understood from scripture.
The Archbishop of Canterbury demonstrated that he could simultaneously accept two contradictory positions as equally valid. One recalls the quip about the man who "had a mind so fine as to be incapable of understanding contradiction."

Speaking at the 2022 Keswick Convention, he suggested that "the challenge to the believability of the Bible" in this generation comes from modern beliefs about sexuality.
The pastor noted that, since 2000, the UK has embraced the promotion of homosexuality in schools, adoption by same-sex couples and same-sex marriage.
He explained: "And suddenly, within a quarter of a century, our nation has lived through an immoral revolution."

India won 22 gold medals in boxing, badminton, table tennis and wrestling. They were all coached by non-Indians, the badminton team by a Chinese. Was this a compromise? International resources were being shared. No one kept their expertise to themselves. All served a higher purpose.

Unfortunately, if you expected him to put the religious argument for environmentalism at the forefront of his speech, you would be disappointed. His approach was rather different. It was all a matter, he said, of an unjust society and the need to deal with it.
