Church Planting Leaders Conference

Church Planting Leaders Conference

GAFCON
January 10, 2020

In the season of Epiphany, the church around the world celebrates that Jesus made his manifestation among us. As St. John says,

"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched - this we proclaim concerning the Word of life." (1 John 1.1).

At the GAFCON assembly in Jerusalem 2018, nine new networks were launched have gathered leaders from every tribe tongue people and nation to see the gospel go forward in faithfulness and fruitfulness to the ends of the earth. In April 2019 a tenth network was formed to recognise, support and stand with the Suffering Church in areas where Christmas suffer persecution.

Our work of Church Planting is a global proclamation of the "word of life" and a call for every man, woman, and child to worship, love and follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

It has grown from a small gathering to nearly 20 authorised regional leaders committed to an unprecedented work in Global Anglicanism: a network of Church Planting Leaders and practitioners who see "the world as our mission field". For the past century, parachurch organizations have led the charge of global church planting (and praise God for their amazing ministries) but now we are seeing the rise of a synergistic combination between jurisdictions (such as the Diocese of Sydney, the Anglican Church of Brazil, the Anglican Church of Rwanda, to name only a few) and partnering ministries to see new churches planted all around the world.

As we have met, first in Jerusalem, and secondly in the United States, momentum has grown, relationships have matured, and our sights have been set on growing our work together to see our movement go forward through evangelism, discipleship, and through church planting. Wherever in the world the Anglican Church has turned its back on the scriptures, the collegiality of our global family, and the faith once delivered, we will seek to not only preach the gospel, make disciples, and plant churches, but also be instrumental in forming new dioceses, and even new Anglican Provinces.

Please pray for our Church Planting Network as we grow from strength to strength and watch this video to hear: how the Lord is building our work together.
