FLORIDA: Recife Bishop to Celebrate in Florida

The Rt. Rev. Robinson Cavalcanti, Bishop -- Diocese of Recife, Brazil, will be the Celebrant at St. Bartholomew's Anglican (Episcopal) Church High Springs, Florida on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 10:00 a.m.

On Sunday, November 28, 2004, The Rt. Rev. Samuel Johnson Howard. Bishop of the Diocese of Florida (ECUSA) fired the orthodox Vicar of St. Bartholomew's when she refused to be in Eucharistic fellowship with him while he remained in Eucharistic fellowship with those who had transgressed from the historic doctrine and discipline of the world-wide Anglican Communion.

On Monday, November 29, 2004, The Rev. Claudia Kalis was immediately received as a priest in good standing by the Bishop of Recife, Brazil -- The Rt. Rev. Robinson Cavalcanti.. On Sunday, December 5, 2004, the Anglican Fellowship was launched under the orthodox, ecclesiastical authority of Bishop Cavalcanti..

On Sunday, March 13, 2005, the people of the Anglican Fellowship will deliver to Bishop Cavalcanti a check for $1,500 in support of their new diocese -- the Diocese of Recife -- which is a champion of historic, orthodox Anglicanism.

Church members will be visiting privately with Bishop Cavalcanti during a private reception in the home of one of the parish's family' members on the eve before he celebrates the sacrament of Holy Communion at 10:00 a.m . on Sunday, March 13, 2005.
