ACC INVITES INTEGRITY LEADERS TO LONDON PRIOR TO PRIMATES MEETING

News Analysis

By David W. Virtue

If one had any doubts about the alleged neutrality of the Anglican Consultative Council the Anglican Communion's fourth "Instrument of Unity" it was dispelled this week when Canon Gregory K. Cameron, Deputy Secretary General of the Anglican Communion Office, invited two leading Episcopal lesbigays to London for what is euphemistically called "conversation" - that much bally-hoed word designed to obfuscate and prolong the agony of the communion.

Cameron, no lover of orthodoxy and a close personal friend of Dr. Rowan Williams, who got him his job at the Paddington-based office, invited the Rev. Susan Russell and immediate past president Michael W. Hopkins of the homoerotic organization Integrity to London to find "practical ways in which a Communion-wide dialog on human sexuality might be moved forward."

This meeting will take place just days before the Primates meet in Ireland. Two other UK organizations UK (LGCM - Lesbian Gay Christian Movement and Changing Attitudes) Several other Anglican LGBT groups were have also invited to participate as well.

"No detailed agenda for the meeting has been enunciated and Integrity has no preconceived notions about its outcomes. Nevertheless, we are deeply appreciative of the opportunity to engage in this conversation and are hopeful that constructive, concrete next steps will emerge," said Russell.

So why did Cameron and the ACC do it? Simple. They want to make it clear on what side they stand on the issues and how little respect they have for the Global South Primates and the vast majority of the Anglican Communion that rejects pansexuality in all its forms.

It also shows a remarkable lack of respect for the Church of England's evangelicals and Anglo-Catholics who also want nothing to do with sodomy and who view such behavior as communion-breaking.

This week three organizations; The Council of Church Society, the Fellowship of Word and Spirit, and Reform issued a statement affirming their commitment to the supreme authority of the Word of God and noted that this is the express position of the Church of England. The ACC dutifully ignored that by its in-your-face act inviting two notorious American Episcopal homosexuals to London.

The three conservative groups also called on the Primates to declare ECUSA and the Diocese of New Westminster, and Bishops supportive of them, out of Communion unless and until they repent for the actions they have taken, and further that those seeking to provide oversight to those opposed to such actions are the ones acting as faithful Anglicans and should not regret or apologize for providing such oversight.

And so in the face of the majority of orthodox British Anglicans and the Primates the ACC invites these two pansexualists for "conversation."

Now, what is called "conversation" in the Anglican Communion these days is another way of saying that we will talk and talk and talk about unbiblical sex till the other side either gives up, or they can engineer one more flagrant sexual practice through the next General Convention. This has been going on for years and it will continue to go on till every conceivable sexual arrangement (and position) is ratified by the Episcopal Church in the name of "peace and justice" and to hell with what the Bible says, Church history affirms, the councils agreed and what most Christians in the world thoroughly reject.

Cameron cites The Windsor Report's mention of Lambeth Resolution 1.10 which calls for "an ongoing process of listening and discernment."

Now that's only part, a very small part, of what 1.10 said. The Windsor Report also reminded readers of the part of the Lambeth Resolution that said homosexuality was "incompatible with Scripture" and disapproved firmly of the blessing of same-sex unions.
Homosexual behavior was roundly and overwhelmingly rejected by the Primates in 1997.

So the thinking is that if at some point the entire Anglican Communion would change its view on homosexuality by a majority vote at a future Lambeth Conference, that view would then be binding on all the provinces. Of course that is not going to happen, and Cameron and the gays know it, so they keep pressing for more "conversation" in the vain hope that if they can stall or wear down the Global South Primates, 22 of whom have already declared themselves in broken communion with the Episcopal Church over the Robinson consecration, then they will win by default.

The left-leaning Anglican Communion Office, which Nigerian Primate Peter Akinola blasted as being little more than a white boys club that does the bidding of Lambeth Palace and its American paymasters the Episcopal Church USA, has apparently learned no lessons from its former corrupt leader John Peterson.

In the climate of East West Anglican relations few things have infuriated Archbishop Akinola more than the work of the ACC. It has been and continues to be a bastion of white liberal domination that rarely reflects the thinking of the Global South. Canon John Peterson was caught manipulating his Western (read American) paymasters to dilute the influence of the Global South over pansexual acceptance. Peterson was never trusted by the Global South and his departure was generally welcomed, offering hopes that his replacement would be an African. It didn't happen.

A liberal pro-gay Irishman was chosen to succeed Peterson, infuriating Akinola who stormed out of the ACC offices complaining that the only black faces were little more than low-level office staff. Rowan Williams made no effort to see that the fourth instrument of unity would have a black face, an insensitivity and rebuff that Akinola will never forget. It's business as usual with a new light-weight leader in the person of Canon Kenneth Kearon from Ireland - Robin Eames territory - another pro-pansexualist and Griswold lover. No wonder Akinola blasted the ACC for its lack of inclusivity, saying the only visible blacks were little more than cleaners and "errand boys". The truth is the ACC represents only a handful of white Western liberal Anglicans and the place is being run by white liberals who represent the fastest dying segment of the Anglican Communion.

And of course the Windsor Report will be made the centerpiece of attention by the Primates in February and be the focus of yet another "reception" by the Anglican Consultative Council in June. But the orthodox Primates see this as largely a game of stalling of the inevitable. It has about as much chance of being "received" (accepted) and its suggestions implemented as V. Gene Robinson's belief that it left "wiggle room" for same sex blessings. It doesn't.

As we now know the Windsor Report has the hand of American revisionists all over the text, both in the way it is expressed and its content. The whole thing is designed to pre-empt any action that chastises the Episcopal Church, and the calls for "regret" are so pathetic as to not even warrant a mention.

Cameron, in his invitation to the two American lesbigays writes, "Christians of good will need to be prepared to engage honestly and frankly with each other on issues relating to
human sexuality. It is vital that the Communion establish processes and structures to facilitate ongoing discussion.”

This is total garbage and a misrepresentation of the facts. The Episcopal Church has been engaged in brokering in homosexual behavior for over 35 years, 5 General Conventions, 4 Primatial gatherings, been made the subject of multiple resolutions, numerous books and articles, with entire websites taken up arguing for and against homoerotic behavior, not to mention millions of miles traveled and millions of dollars spent talking about a revolting death-affirming behavior that, in the words of the Apostle Paul "should not even be named among you as becometh saints."

The truth is we have discussed it to death and laid out the issues more times than there are books in the Bible.

So it is entirely disingenuous of Canon Cameron to fire up the troops and plead once again that more needs to be heard from Integrity or LGBTs or any other pansexual group in the name of inclusivity and diversity.

Wrote Susan Russell: "Integrity has continuously called for such dialogs during the past three decades of its ministry and we stand ready to help make them a reality."

Really. The truth is they have whined, cajoled, yelled homophobia, screamed Fundamentalist and used every epithet in the book to squash and beat down any attempts by orthodox Episcopalians who say that what they are doing can get you a one way ticket to hell. And the ONLY reason they want the orthodox to stay in The Episcopal Church is because they can make churches grow with a biblical gospel and to pay the bills for them to be yelled at one more time at another General Convention about how homophobic they are and not inclusive of their sexual aberrations.

Jack Spong, Louie Crew, Integrity and now the Via Media and Pittsburgh's PEPboys have made it their lifetimes' work, with enormous success, to beat down every and any attempt to proscribe their behavior, and they have done it by misusing language like calling gay friendly churches "welcoming" and those that don’t obviously homophobic, and they have pushed, also successfully, theologically thin, wavering bishops who haven't read their bibles in years and who care only on wearing purple shorts, miters and preaching third rate sermons about God's all-inclusive love - no mention of sin please.

No. Mr. Cameron has deliberately invited these two to London with one purpose only, to try, one more time, to plead for pansexual acceptance and try as he might to influence the Primates with another call for the acceptance of the unacceptable. This time, however, it won't work.

In the words of Nigerian Primate Peter Akinola the Third Trumpet has sounded, and in the Book of the Revelation where that is recorded, it means only one thing - judgment has begun. And when it does it will surely come to rest on the head of one man - Frank Tracy Griswold - and the church he rules over with finger-pointing words that read, "thou art the one".
