PENNSYLVANIA: Continuing Bishops Throw Support to Fr. Geromel

PENNSYLVANIA: Continuing Bishops Throw Support to Fr. Geromel

5 August 2005

The House of Bishops of the Anglican Church in America, meeting with the Primate of the Traditional Anglican Communion in Rosemont, Pennsylvania, and having learned of the attempted deposition of the Reverend Gene Geromel, assures him of their support in the Lord, praises his truly Christian fortitude and encourages his parishioners to persevere in the Spirit, secure in the knowledge that doing so will bring salvation (cf. Matt 10:22)

The College humbly thanks the Lord for the Grace that has led thirteen bishops of the Episcopal Church to witness to Father Geromel's faithfulness, and calls on Bishop Edwin Leidel, their brother in the episcopate, to turn back from the course he has chosen and to restore Father Geromel to the ministry to which the Lord has so lovingly called him.
