The Mission of the church is “To Proclaim The Uncompromised Gospel Of Christ.” The group had it's first worship service on the 4th of January 2004 at the Midwest City community center, located at the corner of Midwest Blvd. and Reno Street in Midwest City, Oklahoma. The first service was attended by about fifty who are committed to the course of the new mission. Subsequent services have been described as uplifting , powerful, and reassuring.

The blessing of same-sex unions has been a matter of controversy in the Canadian church since 2002, when the bishop of the British Columbia diocese of New Westminster agreed, after being asked three times by his diocesan synod, to authorize such blessings. The New Westminster decision has had repercussions throughout the worldwide Anglican Communion, which is badly divided on the issue.

In recent weeks, some of our sisters and brothers, mostly from St. Alban's Church in Monroe and St. Jude's Church in Marietta, have decided to leave the Episcopal Church and venture out on their own. I am saddened by this turn of events, because the principal work of the church is to bring everyone into a reconciling relationship with God and with each other. Reconciliation is hard work, and it takes time and effort.

His election and consecration sent shockwaves through the Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion of which it is a part. Many argue his homosexuality violates God's laws. Robinson has lived with his partner, Mark Andrew, a state administrator, for 15 years.

"(A bishop) is called to be above reproach," said Jerry DeLemus, senior ward en at Church of the Redeemer in Rochester. Robinson may be "a nice guy, but he's a bad example," DeLemus said.

One Canadian diocese has already unilaterally approved a rite for such blessings, and officials believe there is little doubt that the Synod will validate its decision.

Although illicit gay blessings are widespread in the Anglican Church, such a vote would be seen as the first clear endorsement of the practice by an entire province.

The Rev. Jim Murphy's last Sunday at Nativity will be March 28, according to the bishop's office. In a letter to his congregation dated March 6, Murphy said the Archbishop of Rwanda, the Most Rev. Emmanuel Mbona- Kolini, has agreed to accept him as a priest in good standing in order to explore "starting a new Gospel- minded, mission oriented congregation in this area."
