VANCOUVER: Five Anglican Primates offer TAEO to Orthodox parishes across Canada

Five Anglican Primates offer Temporary Adequate Episcopal Oversight
to Anglican Churches across Canada

The Anglican Communion in Canada.

VANCOUVER , CANADA- Citing what they call an "emergency" resulting from firings and church closures, five Primates (senior Archbishops) from the Anglican Communion have offered Temporary Adequate Episcopal Oversight to Anglican Churches across Canada.

Four of eleven churches belonging to the Anglican Communion in New Westminster (ACiNW) coalition, in accepting the Primates' offer, have officially notified their former bishop Michael Ingham of their decision.

Contrary to media reports, and the website postings of the diocese of
New Westminster, the Anglican congregations accepting the Primates'
offer have not joined the AMiA, but rather have formed the ACiC, the
Anglican Communion in Canada, under the oversight of the five Primates of the Provinces of the Congo, Rwanda, Central Africa, Kenya, and South East Asia.

The Anglican Communion in Canada is a fellowship of Anglican congregations and ministries who have gratefully accepted the offer of Temporary Adequate Episcopal Oversight made by the international Primates, in consultation with the Archbishop of Canterbury, and in accordance with the October statement of the Primates of the Anglican Communion.

This offer is in response to the crisis of faith and order precipitated by the abandonment by the Diocese of New Westminster of the unambiguous teachings of the Anglican Communion with respect to the authority of scripture and human sexuality.

The actions of the Diocese of New Westminster, and similar actions in
the Episcopal Church of the United States, have torn the fabric of the
Anglican Communion and resulted in the suspension of ecumenical dialogue with the Anglican Communion's major ecumenical partners.

These four congregations are being temporarily cared for by the
Primates' representative, the Right Reverend Thomas Johnston, Missionary Bishop of the Episcopal Province of Rwanda. While being in broken communion with bishop Michael Ingham and the New Westminster diocese, the ACiC remains intentionally "in communion" with all faithful and orthodox Christians in the Anglican Church.

Contrary to the New Westminster web site, this is not just about clergy
resignations but the wholehearted and duly authorized parish decision of
several congregations.*

We are therefore pleased to inform faithful Anglicans across Canada of
the Primates' offer, which is extended to all faithful Anglican clergy &
congregations, and which provides a means for us to remain in fellowship with the majority of Anglicans world-wide under godly orthodox Episcopal oversight with full jurisdiction.
