Awakened by the morning chime
The archbishop rises Justin time,
Takes a breath and swells his lungs
At 5am to speak in tongues.
Self qualified as charismatic
The exercise seems automatic.
Before he takes his breakfast cereal
He enters a state deemed ethereal.
And so the lord of Canterbury
Begins his secret vocabulary,
Resolving ne'er to be a failure
In the exercise of glossolalia.
What seems the basis of this boast?
Whom the inspirational "ghost"?
One doubts the presence of the Lord,
Given the contradiction of his word.
For some of us can clearly see
That Welby and the Scriptures disagree.
