Episcopal Leaders Embrace their Inner Transgendered Toilet
PB Curry and HOD President file Amicus Brief with U.S. Supreme Court mandating transgender bathrooms

In a solemn pronouncement this week, Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry and House of Deputies President, Gay Jennings signed an amicus brief on behalf of an infinitesimally small group of people unsure of what sex they wanted to be, urging The Supreme Court to embrace transgender bathroom policies in the name of justice for all.
The Episcopal Church finally does something useful, writes Anglican blogger, David of Samizdat. "I know I tend to be a trifle negative about the Anglican Church of Canada and The Episcopal Church, implying, at times, that they are nothing but the sub-Christian, desiccated remains of once influential denominations that do little more than give Christianity a bad name, make a laughing stock of their congregants and bring grief and misery to anyone who questions what they see as their divinely appointed mission to empty Christianity of metaphysical coherence.
"But this week all that has changed!
"Michael Curry has truly seen into the mind of God and is forging a new path to a future glowing brightly with the transcendent luminosity of harmony, truth and justice. He has signed an amicus brief urging the high court to allow men to use women's toilets and vice versa. The New Jerusalem is (clearly) upon is."
Curry and Jennings are the lead signers of an amicus brief filed March 2, along with some 1,800 clergy and religious leaders who say they anchored their decision in the theological understanding that all people are created in the image of God and thus entitled to equal protection under the law. The issue revolves around respondent Gavin Grimm, the perfect name we think.
I especially like this paragraph; "This divine decree proclaims the inherent sacredness, dignity, worth, and equality of every human person, by virtue of their creation imago Dei," they said. "The way of love for God and our neighbor that Jesus taught is the way to honor the sacredness, dignity and worth and equality of each person. For this reason, we work for the equality and dignity of transgender people, who, like the rest of us, are created in God's image and likeness."
Of course, "gender identity" is now completely subjective. The amazing, or odd thing, is that Black folk are not permitted to wake up and say, "Today I'll be white." The question is why is gender open to self-definition, while race and ethnicity are not?
There is little doubt that this "justice" wake up call will jump start the Jesus Movement in TEC and hordes of transgendered folk will now pour into the Church, just like all the homosexuals were supposed to do but didn't, not only in search of God but looking for a new identity as well. Such folk will find plenty of womanist theology to ably assist them, coming from pulpits galore.
It will also surely be a General Convention resolution that all of TEC's 6500 parishes must now spend "mission dollars", for that is clearly what it is, to put a trannie toilet, regardless of the cost, and the 30-40 65-year-olds who attend these parishes must submit or find their voting privileges denied them at future diocesan conventions.
The fact that transgendered folk were not born that way anymore than homosexuals were born that way or that a gay gene has ever been found, is apparently beside the point. Justice must be served and if denied, the wrath of God will descend on the Episcopal Church and cause it to empty.
Ironically, it is not just psychiatrists who have described transgenderism as "quackery", some feminists have as well!
Kara Dansky, the board chair for the Women's Liberation Front, has criticized former President Obama's transgender bathroom laws.
The self-described "radical feminist" explained to The Daily Caller founder that the "interpretation of sex to mean gender identity... redefines women and girls to mean essentially anyone who identifies as a woman or girl."
"If we define sex to mean gender identity, that renders the category, women and girls, meaningless."
"It goes further than that," she continued. "We see this in language all throughout society."
Dansky added that the left has dubbed the WLF "transphobic bigots" for their acceptance of biology.
"We are often threatened with rape and death," she continued. "We are told to go die in a fire because ... we're standing up for women and girls."
The American College of Pediatricians (ACP) urged educators and legislators to reject policies favoring transgenderism, saying unequivocally, "Conditioning children into believing a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthful is child abuse."
Psychiatrists say the whole transgender thing is pure quackery. No one is born transgendered any more than they are born gay, it's a lie that goes on being perpetuated week after week until it suddenly becomes the truth.
The ACP statement, written by the ACP's president, Michelle A. Cretella, vice president, Quentin Van Meter, and Johns Hopkins psychiatrist, Paul McHugh, have listed eight reasons why the ideology believing in gender transitioning is harmful.
First, "human sexuality is an objective biological binary trait." Being male or female is less a coincidental genetic trait than it is a functional difference in the human species, existing for the purpose of procreation.
Second, gender is sociological, while sex is biological. A person's biological sexual orientation from birth does not alter over time with ideology.
Third, "a person's belief that he or she is something they are not is, at best, a sign of confused thinking," in other words, a psychological problem, and should be treated as such. Gender Identity Disorder is recognized by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) as a mental disorder, not a genetic one.
Fourth, using puberty-blocking hormones to reverse a natural biological sexual trait can be dangerous, both physically and mentally.
Fifth, up to 98% of gender ambiguous boys and 88% of gender ambiguous girls are likely to accept their biological sex after passing through puberty naturally, according to the APA.
Sixth, "Children who use puberty blockers to impersonate the opposite sex will require cross-sex hormones in late adolescence."
Seventh, suicide rates are "twenty times greater among adults who use cross-sex hormones and undergo sex reassignment surgery, even in Sweden which is among the most LGBQT-affirming countries." Condemning young children to a lifetime risk of suicide and mental disorders is both cruel and senseless.
Eighth, "endorsing gender discordance as normal via public education and legal policies will confuse children and parents, leading more children to present to 'gender clinics' where they will be given puberty-blocking drugs. This, in turn, virtually ensures that they will 'choose' a lifetime of carcinogenic and otherwise toxic cross-sex hormones, and likely consider unnecessary surgical mutilation of their healthy body parts as young adults."
In summary, the physicians all agreed on one truth: "Facts -- not ideology -- determine reality."
Perhaps Episcopal Church leaders should have done their homework before rushing to write this ridiculous amicus brief. TEC is just looking sillier and sillier with each passing year, even as its churches grow emptier and emptier.
